The "Big-Guys" want you to pay for the privilege of selling their hosting products and services. At Im1 you'll find we help you get started without the up-front costs you may find elsewhere. We're the Host for Web Hosts.
We are absolutely positive you will love our web hosting services or your money back.
Back in 1995 around the start of the dot-com craze the founder of Im1 was engaged in depot service repair of computer equipment. The repair company was one of the first to have it's own web-site. It's hard to imagine impressing a prospect by showing them your Compuserve web page which included a state-of-the-art animated gif. Shortly after that we started looking around to find a place to host our own dot-com. We began hosting with a company who had servers colocated at the Exodus data center and shortly after advertising our own dot-com in the trade journals, our phone started ringing off hook.
What we found was the people who used our depot computer repair services were among the first adopters of the web- and we were getting more calls for hosting web sites of others than we got for depot repair. Over time it became clear the depot business would not grow like the Internet- we sold the repair business keeping only the hosting clients and the name was changed to Im1 in 1997.
From the beginning Im1 has been among the first in many areas.
Today, Im1 is among the tops in the field of web hosting with over tens years experience hosting anything from a one-man company up to Presidential campaigns. We have a depth and breadth of experience that is unrivaled.
Try us and you will see why we still have our first customer ever and why we've kept over 95% of our clients since the beginning.
Exactly How Big Is Big?

There was the person who once asked Abe Lincoln how long a man's legs ought to be- and Old Abe, thinking a while, allowed as how "a man's legs ought to be long enough to reach the ground".
Size- for the sake of size alone- isn't important. It's what you do with the size- after you stretch into it- that counts. I've seen an ant lug a pebble fifteen times its own weight. Compared to that creature I'm a first rate Boulder-dam- but on the basis of comparative strength, that little ant has me beat to a frazzle.
Size is deceptive
Here at Im1 we've never made size an end- but a means. Im1 is big enough to be the source for some of the greatest hardware and software platforms on earth- yet small enough to support even the smallest open source and commercial applications.
We haven't grown too fat to be proud of the first sale we ever made, yet we're humble enough to be grateful to the customer who activated our virtual cash register just seconds ago.
We're sufficiently big time to sell servers and systems costing thousands of dollars for a single item. Yet were small enough to take an order for a domain name and say "thank you", with a smile.
So don't think of Im1 as being big, or medium size, or downright small. Remember that our legs always were and always will be- exactly the right length to reach the ground. If that theory was good enough for Old Abe, it's good enough for your humble servant.
